In this leadership position, you will direct the accounting department. As the Accounting Manager, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. The full-time Accounting Manager position is situated in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. Work is to be conducted on-site at the company office. Your responsibilities in this role - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis - Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations - Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible - Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll - Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis for a multi-entity company - Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties - Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash Please email your resume to Link Removed for confidential consideration. Job Requirements - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds - Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, at least 3+ years at an Accounting Manager level preferred - Skills in Bank Deposit - Microsoft Excel experience preferred - Experience with financial statement preparation - Prior experience partnering with a 3rd party payroll service such as Paychex or ADP - Previous experience working with year end closings - Wide ranging experience with journal entries - Yardi experience or other property management accounting software such as Rent Manager or Timberline - Proficiency in property accounting - Expertise in Commercial Property Management accounting - Quality experience with Intercompany Transaction - Good understanding of month end closings - Comprehension of bank reconciliations - Proven knowledge of financial statements consolidation - General familiarity with in-house payroll - Earlier work involving Adjusting Journal Entries - Practical knowledge of Intercompany Transaction - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - CPA or MBA preferred - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Robert Half Finance & Accounting matches skilled finance and accounting professionals in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more on a full-time basis. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
