Occasional travel may be required to visit all of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Plans, directs, manages and supports the day to day administrative operations of the Community Based Ambulatory Care Section. This includes planning, developing, and directing planning processes for the Section. -Develops and submits the annual budget requirements of the Community Based Ambulatory Care Section and the four CBOCs -Performs frequent analysis of the status of requests with respect to resource allocation and spending. -Oversees budget fund control points for the four CBOC locations which includes initiating purchase order requests and preparing budgetary request for presentation by the Section Chief or Assistant Group Practice Managers, serves as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR) on applicable contracts and supplies the government's salient requirement -Assists the Section Chief and Assistant Group Practice Managers on human resources related matters, which includes preparing related documents for higher lever management review. -Assists with new employee recruitment and separation -Collects data relevant to employee performance as well as ongoing professional practice evaluation -Maintains appropriate competency or other service level personnel folders (as applicable) ensuring that folders are complete and kept up to date. -Prepares and tracks new employees through the hiring process and updates the new employee checklist to ensure all CBOC specific new employees needs are handled prior to the employee's start date. -Ensures the Section remains in compliance with local VISN, national, and external accrediting body guidelines Work Schedule:

In order for advancement to a General Schedule position in the competitive service by any individual who within the previous 52 weeks held a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, the applicant must meet time in grade requirements. Certain exceptions apply, see 5 CFR 300.603. Physical Requirements - The work is sedentary in nature. Typically, the incumbent will sit to perform work functions, but there may be some walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, knelling, crouching, or carrying light items.
