Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Sr.
Systems Engineer to support R&D activities in the field of thermal and imaging sensor development and integration, as well as AiTR algorithm development and deployment.
Work with an established team of experienced engineers, scientists, and developers to turn concepts into reality in support of the warfighter.
Interface directly with other contractors as well as government customers.
Work as part of a team in a research, design, and development environment to produce a wide variety of products, ranging from vehicle-based integrated sensor systems, to custom PCB designs for advanced on-the-edge algorithm processing applications, to augmented and virtual reality applications, and many more.
Formulate innovative solutions to problems-- then design, build, and integrate them.
Required:
Familiarity with the current state of the art in various fields, including imaging sensors, thermal sensors, biometrics, surveillance, embedded systems, and more Experience with designing and documenting complex hardware and software systems based on customer-specified requirements Experience developing and analyzing requirements for military systems Familiarity with algorithm development and deployment onto embedded systems, including familiarity with available processing architectures and their pros and cons for different applications Experience working with FPGA, especially for image/video processing purposes Excellent component level troubleshooting skills BS or higher in an engineering or technical field 7
years of experience Desired:
Comfortable leading meetings and coordinating between teams of engineers, tracking issues, evaluating progress, and reporting status and results Experience identifying and evaluating COTS parts and components for use in systems; able to formulate alternative solutions when COTS parts are not available, including custom-designed parts, modifying system designs to bridge capability gaps, etc.
Experience working with and analyzing various types of production documents such as Bills of Material, Technical Drawing Packages, and other system design documents The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief.
